On Monday, a woman stated that she had boarded a metro from Tughlaqabad metro station and deboarded at Mandi House. While she was waiting for her friend at platform number-1, the accused, who was at platform number-2, started touching his private parts after looking at the complainant.
The complainant who got scared approached theCISF staff at the metro station. But by the time the CISF staff arrived, Sharma boarded the metro and fled.The victim posted about the incident on social media following which a case was registered. "CCTV footage were analysed and with the help of the victim, the accused was identified. The photographs of the accused were also developed. It was found that the accused deboarded a metro train at Nangli Metro Station. Later, it came to fore that the accused was residing in Rajiv Nagar, Begumpur and he was nabbed from there," said G Ram Gopal Naik, DCP, Metro.In a statement, DMRC said, "Such incidents are viewed with great seriousness. In this particular case also, all necessary assistance was extended to the police, which led to the arrest of the accused".
"After receiving the complaint on social media, we immediately contacted the complainant and collected all necessary details...All details were shared with the police who took prompt action and arrested the individual on Thursday," the statement further read.
