Two teen boys allegedly assaulted a woman riding on the Orange Line on Wednesday after they made a “vulgar, offensive and sexually charged” announcement over the train’s PA system, MBTA Transit Police said.
At about 9:54 a.m., transit police officers received a radio call to respond to the MBTA’s Green Street station for reports of the youths having illegally gained access to the conductor’s cab of the train where they used the lewd language, according to MBTA Transit Police.
Officers were met by an unnamed woman when they arrived on scene, who relayed the incidents that happened as the train traveled southbound from the Orange Line’s Jackson Square station to the Stony Brook station, police said.
The woman told MBTA police officers that an adult passenger on the train yelled at the 14-year-olds that “You need to be in school,” while at the Green Street station, police said.
After that comment, the woman was then allegedly struck in the back of her head by the juveniles and who then made comments directed at the woman about what they “wanted the reporting party/victim to do to them sexually,” transit police said.
Transit police officers approached the offending teens but “despite their best efforts could not obtain any form of cooperation from them,” the department added.
Police said that the teens were arrested and taken to MBTA Transit Police headquarters where their legal guardians were contacted.
Police said they will seek charges of assault and battery as well as trespassing against the juveniles.
