Vijay Deverakonda Takes Legal Action Against YouTuber For Spreading 'Vulgar' Misinformation
Creative freedom has certainly left a big loophole for many social media users to spread alleged misinformation, rumours, and untrue facts about noted celebrities and public figures merely for a few likes. Yes, just recently, Sonam Kapoor had sent a legal notice to a YouTuber for allegedly 'roasting her'. However, many supported that video as an act of constructive criticism; but it surely didn't go well with the Blind actor.
Now, Vijay Deverakonda has taken legal action against a YouTuber for spreading alleged 'vulgar' and 'obscene' misinformation about him and an actress, as per a report in HT.
Vijay Deverakonda Takes Legal Action Against YouTuber
Yes, you read that right. The Cyber Crime Department of the Hyderabad Police has arrested an individual from Anantapur for spreading false information and making derogatory comments about actor Vijay Deverakonda on his YouTube channel, CinePolis.
The law enforcement authorities took prompt action against the individual just days after the offensive video was posted. Additionally, they ensured that the offender deleted the objectionable content from his channel as part of the legal measures.
"A few days ago this individual spread vulgar news related to Vijay and another actress. The police promptly responded after their attention was brought to the disrespectful news. They located the person involved and let go of his post-counselling and deletion of videos," a member of Vijay’s team was quoted by HT.
The Liger actor's team also informed HT that an FIR was filed under case number 2590/2023 in Hyderabad and the individual was arrested and brought to the city within hours of filing the complaint.
"Preventive measures are being taken to avoid such incidents in the future. Vijay is used to rumour-mongering but sometimes, people cross a line. He wants to set an example, especially when a third party’s name is also dragged in unfairly because it’s not okay," he team was further quoted.
