THE FLU IS JUST STARTING TO RAMP UP WITH MORE THAN 4500 CASES IN THE LAST WEEK ALONE. THAT’S MORE THAN TRIPLE THE NUMBER OF CASES FROM FOUR WEEKS AGO. RSV CASES HAVE BEEN RISING FOR THE LAST FIVE WEEKS, AND LAST WEEK, THE STATE HEALTH DEPARTMENT SAYS THERE WERE JUST UNDER 5000 CONFIRMED CASES STATEWIDE. STATEWIDE, THERE HAVE JUST BEEN OVER 20,000 CONFIRMED RSV CASES SINCE OCTOBER 1ST. AND THE MEDICAL DIRECTOR OF INFECTIOUS DISEASES HERE AT LANCASTER GENERAL HEALTH APPEARED ON WGAL IN FOCUS LAST WEEKEND AND DISCUSSED WHAT THEY ARE SEEING SO FAR THIS YEAR. SO FAR, LUCKILY, WE ARE NOT SEEING RISE IN NUMBER COMPARED TO LAST YEAR. NOW IT IS ONGOING. SO WE SEE RSV, IT HAS BEEN IN PEAK FLU, JUST STARTED. COVID HAS BEEN STILL UP.
