Joe Biden’s vulgar slip up - Sky News Australia

US President Joe Biden was caught using an unexpected remark during a relaxed exchange with Fort Myers Mayor Ray Murphy on Wednesday, while touring towns severely hit by Hurricane Ian.

Hurricane Ian produced life-threatening flooding, storm surges and strong winds across portions of Florida, Georgia and the Carolinas late last week.

Mr Biden declared the catastrophic hurricane, which hit Florida last Thursday, as the “deadliest” in the state’s history.

A video of the 79-year-old  President captured his laidback exchange with the local mayor while touring the beach town severely devastated by the event.

The two were seen shaking hands, with Mr Murphy thanking the President for visiting his town when Mr Biden slipped up.

“No one f**ks with a Biden,” the US president said.

“Yeah, you’re goddamn right,” Mayor Murphy laughed and responded.

Mr Murphy looked a little taken back in the video as he laughed, with most of the conversation inaudible.

“You can’t argue with reporters outside the house,” Mr Biden is heard saying at the end of the video.

It is not the first time that the President has surprised Americans with his remarks.

In January, Mr Biden was caught calling a Fox News reporter Peter Doocy “a stupid son of a b***h” after he asked a question about inflation.

According to HuffPost, Mr Doocy revealed that the President later called the journalist to apologise and said it was “nothing personal” in the pleasant call.

Mr Biden was touring Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel during the most recent slip up, two of the worst-hit areas thanks to Hurricane Ian.

He said he commiserates with those hard hit by the storm because of a 2004 lightning strike incident which damaged his own home.

“I know from experience, how much anxiety and fear and concern are [among] the people,” Mr Biden said in Florida.

“We didn’t lose our home, but lightning struck and we lost an awful lot of it about 15 years ago.

“But we know the feeling, that feeling about, ‘Where am I going to put my head down on a pillow tonight? How’s that gonna work? Is my kid gonna be okay? Is he be able to go back to school? Am I gonna be able to rebuild my home?”

The President has pledged billions towards the recovery efforts following Hurricane Ian, as the state still grapples with the deadliest storm in decades.
