KTVI anchor Vic Faust has been fired from the St. Louis Fox affiliate after directing insults and profanity at the female co-host of his radio show last week.
“Vic Faust no longer works for Fox 2, KPLR (Channel 11) or Nexstar Media,” station general manager Kurt Krueger told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, which first reported the story about the recorded rant.
The paper said “Faust used profanity at least 40 times in berating Crystal Cooper, who was part of Faust’s morning-drive show Sept. 13 on KFNS (100.7 FM), also known as The Viper.”
Yesterday, Faust apologized on social media by saying he was “very sorry.”
“My words hurt Crystal, my colleagues and family,” he wrote. “I made a huge mistake and I’m ashamed. As I work to earn trust again, I hope we can have an open dialogue about respect in the workplace and forgiveness.”
Last week Faust was recorded berating Cooper by calling her “fat,” “stupid” and “nasty,” At one point he said she was “nothing” and that she was “trash.”
He also told her, “You’re a (expletive) mom, you don’t even know the topics we’re talking about. You’re just stupid.”
“I have earned all the bad that comes with this,” he wrote. “I had a terrible moment recorded and I will regret it the rest of my life.”
