Get a sneak peek at how season 3 of Harley Quinn earns its TV-MA rating by watching the new red band trailer, released on Monday by HBO Max. The trailer picks up with Harley Quinn and her partner in both crime and romance, Poison Ivy, continuing on after the events of season 2. You can watch the video in the tweet below, or over on YouTube, just know that it drops no less than seven F-bombs and features plenty of bloody mayhem.

Harley Quinn was originally developed to stream at DC Universe where it originally debuted its first two seasons. The show made the move to HBO Max where its third season was made, and it's been a bit of a wait for fans to get these new episodes. Season 2 concluded in the summer of 2020, and it's now been longer than two years for the new season to come. Now that it's a matter of days away, fans are obviously stoked to see what's coming next for Harlivy and the others.

The series is set in its own universe, following Harley Quinn after she breaks up with the Joker and decides to prove her worth as a Gotham City supervillain by starting her own gang of misfits. The show was developed by Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacker, and Dean Lorey. It features the voices of Kaley Cuoco, Lake Bell, Alan Tudyk, Ron Funches, Tony Hale, Matt Oberg, Jason Alexander, Christopher Meloni, J. B. Smoove, Diedrich Bader, and Giancarlo Esposito.

A Harley Quinn Spinoff Series Is Also in the Works

It's not yet clear if there will be a fourth season of Harley Quinn, but the show's universe will be expanding either way. Because Harley Quinn has been such a hit with fans, there are plans to develop a spinoff series. Dubbed Noonan's, the spinoff will focus on Kite Man tending a bar frequented by Gotham's most dangerous supervillains. The spinoff was announced by Schumacker at SXSW earlier this year.

"He tries to run the bar by himself, but it doesn't turn out so easy," Schumacker said, per Collider. "We have Harley and Ivy appear in the first episode, but after that, we have with different goons and villains appearing every episode like Lex Luthor and Bane. It will be kind of like Cheers for supervillains."

Harley Quinn will premiere its third season on July 28, 2022, on HBO Max. The first two seasons are now streaming.
