More than three-quarters of a million COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in Utah, and more than a quarter of a million Utahns have received the second dose of the vaccine. That’s about 8.4% of the state’s population that has received two doses.

Utah reported seven more deaths on Wednesday; five of those occurred before Feb. 10 and have only recently been confirmed as coronavirus related. The state’s medical examiner determined one of the deaths reported Monday — a man in Iron County, 65-84 years old — was not caused by COVID-19, and the man’s death was removed from the state’s tally.

Vaccinations administered in past day/total vaccinations • 18,236 / 759,533.

Number of Utahns who have received two doses • 269,368.

Cases reported in past day • 729.

Deaths reported in past day • Seven.

Salt Lake County reported five deaths: A man and a woman between the ages of 45-64; a man and a woman 65-84; and a woman 85-plus.

There was one death each in Box Elder and Washington counties, both men 65-84.

Hospitalizations reported in past day • 212. That’s down one from Tuesday. Of those currently hospitalized, 92 are in intensive care units — the same as on Tuesday.

Tests reported in past day • 8,249 people were tested for the first time. A total of 21,267 people were tested.

Percentage of positive tests • Under the state’s original method, the rate is 8.8%. That’s lower than the seven-day average of 10.2%.

Its new method counts all test results, including repeated tests of the same individual. Wednesday’s rate is now at 3.4%, lower than the seven-day average of 4.8%.
