The Hazratganj police had arrested Agarwal on Sunday following four FIRs were lodged against him after complaints that vulgar messages tagging BJP leaders and their families over the past several months were tweeted from the party’s social media account.
The digital cell coordinator of the Samajwadi Party, Manish Jagan Agarwal, walked out of prison on Monday after getting bail from court in cases related to posting vulgar tweets.
The Hazratganj police had arrested Agarwal on Sunday following four FIRs were lodged against him after complaints that vulgar messages tagging BJP leaders and their families over the past several months were tweeted from the party’s social media account.
After Agarwal’s arrest, SP national president Akhilesh Yadav visited the police headquarters and the district jail on Sunday.
Later, Samajwadi Party also lodged a complaint against BJP youth wing social media cell in-charge Richa Rajput on Sunday with the Hazratganj police station for allegedly writing offensive tweets against party MP Dimple Yadav.
