Mumbai: On Friday, a 27-year-old man who works as a labourer was arrested by the Mumbai Central GRP for sending vulgar messages to a woman and harassing her to meet with him. A complaint was lodged in the VP Road Police station by a woman aged 24 who alleged that the man had sent her lewd texts, nudes.

According to the complaint, she was on her way to Rajasthan for a pilgrimage along with her family and were waiting for a train that was about to depart from Dadar Terminus. The woman received a phone call at around 11:50 am, from an unknown number, where the caller told her to check WhatsApp, the Times of India reported. Upon asking to identify himself, the man hanged up.

A police officer said that the complaint checked her WhatsApp and found pornographic videos and images. The man sending lewd texts also requested her to make a video call, the police said.

The woman told the man that she would approach the police if she again received such messages. The man finally stopped sending her pornographic content.

After she returned from Rajasthan, she filed a complaint, and the Mumbai Central GRP arrested the man using technical surveillance devices. The arrested man was identified as Milan Yadav who is a resident of Vasai.
