A man was cited at the Salt Lake City International Airport after an angry, vulgar outburst on an American Airlines flight on Monday, reported KSL.

The man, who was one of 162 passengers aboard the flight, was flying from Los Angeles to Salt Lake City. According to a witness, the man allegedly berated the flight crew and passengers, and he made made some sexist remarks.

American Airlines released a statement that said, in part:

"The flight landed safely at (Salt Lake City) where local law enforcement removed the disruptive passenger from the aircraft. We thank our crew for their professionalism and our customers for their understanding."

The man was detained by SLC police at around 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

Video from a witness shows the man slurring his words, stumbling to and from his seat, and yelling. The flight crew can be seen trying to calm the man down, asking him to remain seated until the flight landed.

A spokeswoman for the airport said that the man was cited for public intoxication. He was taken to the hospital for unknown reasons.

The man's identity has not yet been released.
