NEW YORK (1010 WINS) - A subway rider accused an MTA worker of calling her a vulgar, derogatory slur after she reportedly confronted him about not wearing a mask at a subway station in Brooklyn.
A Twitter user who goes by Janessa Joy wrote Wednesday that the worker alluded to Gov. Andrew Cuomo when he hurled the slur at her in the Nostrand Avenue station in Bedford-Stuyvesant.
"This piece of garbage at the Nostrand A station refused to put on his mask, saying it was in his pocket, and called me a 'Cuomo c***' for asking him to put it on," she wrote.
The tweet included a photo of a man wearing an MTA uniform working at a MetroCard machine.
MTA spokesman Tim Minton told the New York Post on Thursday that the allegation was being looked into.
"The reported conduct is unacceptable and appropriate disciplinary action will be taken," Minton said in the statement. "Wearing a mask is not optional for any MTA employee working in the transit system. Additionally, all MTA employees must treat riders with the utmost respect at all times - period."
