NOW THE FIRST AND MOST MAJOR REQUIREMENT IS THAT ALL PENN HEALTH CARE WORKERS, ALL OF THEM, MUST MASK UP AGAIN. BUT THERE IS MORE TO THIS AS WELL. NOW THE ALL PATIENTS AND VISITORS ARE ALSO ENCOURAGED TO WEAR MASKS. THERE ARE SOME EXCEPTIONS. THOSE PATIENTS WHO ARE TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID IN THE LAST TEN DAYS, OR HAVE SYMPTOMS OF COVID, THAT INCLUDES A COUGH OR A SORE THROAT OR CONGESTION OR A FEVER. YOU GOT TO WEAR A MASK IF YOU ARE A VISITOR WHO’S TESTED POSITIVE FOR COVID IN THE LAST TEN DAYS, OR YOU HAVE A SYMPTOMS OF COVID, YOU’RE NOT ALLOWED TO ENTER ANY FACILITY. MASKING IS ALSO REQUIRED FOR PATIENTS OVER THE AGE OF TWO, AND THAT’S IN SUCH PLACES AS THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, URGENT CARE CENTERS, THE ONCOLOGY, RADIATION AND TRANSPLANT CLINICS. ALSO, YOU HAVE TO MASK UP IN INFUSION CENTERS AS WELL. AND THEY’RE ALSO ENCOURAGING PATIENTS WHO ARE IMMUNOCOMPROMISED TO CONTINUE TO MASK UP IN THESE FACILITIES. AND ONCE AGAIN, ALL PENN MEDICINE HEALTH CARE WORKERS ARE REQUIRED TO MASK UP UNDER THESE REVISED GUIDELINES. AGAIN, THIS IS ALL BECAUSE OF THE INCREASED CASES OF THINGS SUCH AS THE FLU, RSV AND OF COURSE, COVID 19.
