DES MOINES, Iowa (KCRG) -The Iowa Department of Public Health reported 47 more Iowans died of COVID-19. That’s a new record for single-day deaths reported in the state since the pandemic began.
The state also reported 3,365 more Iowans tested positive for the virus over the last 24 hours.
As of 10:30 a.m. on November 25 the state’s website showed a total of 218,947 Iowans have tested positive and a total of 2,271 Iowans have died from the virus since the pandemic began.
According to the data the state makes available, the positivity rate over the last 24 hours was 39.3 percent.
There are currently 1,305 Iowans hospitalized with the virus, with 198 having been admitted in the last 24 hours. Of the hospitalized patients, 269 are in the ICU and 150 are on ventilators.
The weekly White House Coronavirus Task Force report, released on November 22, still showed significant virus activity in Iowa. However, the task force said they were “encouraged by the steps taken by Gov. Reynolds in her recent disaster emergency proclamation.
