Lady Gaga Slams Trump For Vulgar Comments About Women While Campaigning For Joe Biden - NowThis

Lady Gaga joined the campaign trail for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Monday night, slamming President Trump over his history of degrading remarks about women and sexual misconduct allegations.

The star took the stage in Pittsburgh, PA at a drive-in rally for the former vice president, joined by musicians John Legend, Common, and other leaders. In her speech, Gaga encouraged voters to get to the polls on Tuesday and vote no matter what. Pennsylvania has become a key battleground state in the 2020 election.

“Now is not the time to feel confident and sit back,” Gaga said. “Now is the time to show up and vote like this country depends on it, because it does.”

Gaga continued: “We all know that this thing may come down to Pennsylvania. We need you, we need your family, we need your heart.”

“To all the women, and men with daughters and sisters and mothers. Everybody, no matter how you identify, now is your chance to vote against Donald Trump. A man who believes his fame gives him the right to grab one of your daughters, or sisters, or mothers, or wives by any part of their bodies. Vote for Joe, he’s a good person.”

Gaga’s speech was in reference to a 2005 recording from an Access Hollywood interview, during which Trump is heard making vulgar comments about women and bragging about grabbing women’s genitals without consent.

“I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything,” Trump said in the recording. “Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything,” Trump said in the recording. The footage surfaced weeks before the 2016 election.

At the Biden rally, Gaga also told the crowd about how she used to live in Pennsylvania and that her family is from Pittsburgh.

“Let’s vote Trump out,” she urged. Gaga has long been a vocal advocate for several causes, including for survivors of sexual assault, anti-bullying efforts, mental health awareness, Black Lives Matter, and LGBTQ+ rights. She has spent weeks leading up to the election on social media asking people to vote.

During his own rally on Monday night, Trump responded to Gaga’s endorsement of Biden saying, “I could tell you stories about Lady Gaga.” He also attempted to criticize Biden for being supported by BeyoncĂ©, Jay-Z and Jon Bon Jovi.

Trump and his campaign also tried to paint Gaga as an anti-fracking activist ahead of the visit to Pennsylvania — where thousands of people work in the fracking industry. His campaign claimed 600,000 people worked in the industry, though people quickly pointed out that the number was actually around 30,000 to 50,000 people.

Trump further pushed the claim on Twitter.

“Just learned that Sleepy Joe Biden is campaigning in Pennsylvania with Lady Gaga, a proud member of ‘Artists Against Fracking.’ This is more proof that he would ban Fracking and skyrocket your energy prices,” Trump wrote on Monday.

Gaga fired back at the Trump campaign’s email on Sunday saying: “HEY TIM HEY
@realDonaldTrump SO HAPPY IM GLAD TO BE LIVING RENT FREE in your HEAD. #BidenHarris.”
