A Dallas man confronted Gov. Greg Abbott about the abortion law outside of a restaurant on Saturday.
TikTok screenshot @erickatzenbergerTexas Gov. Greg Abbott was greeted Saturday night outside Harper’s Restaurant in Dallas by a man fed up with his policies. A viral video ensued.
Eric Katzenberger, 34, filmed himself shaking hands with the governor as he asked him why he signed the restrictive abortion law. Then he called him a dirty word.
The video was uploaded to TikTok, where it went viral and has accumulated over 6 million views.
Katzenberger told the Express-News on Monday that Abbott didn’t respond at all and his security detail wasn’t happy.
Katzenberger was servicing linens as a part of his business, Alt Linen, at a hotel across the street from the restaurant before he approached the governor. He said he sent the video to his friends first. One of his friend’s wife asked to upload it to the video-sharing platform. After seeing all the views and positive feedback, he decided to join the platform and upload the video to his new account.
