Florida health officials reported 11,576 additional cases of COVID-19 on Monday and 159 additional resident deaths as a result of the novel coronavirus.
Florida has now confirmed 1,488,586 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began and 23,071 resident deaths, according to the health department. Non-resident deaths within the state are now at 353.
There have been at least 65,796 resident hospitalizations attributed to the novel coronavirus in Florida since the start of the outbreak.

Deaths verified in the past day include 28 in Miami-Dade County, eight in Broward County and 17 in Palm Beach County.
The statewide positivity rate on yesterday’s testing was 10.6%.

Worldwide, the number of COVID-19 cases reported is more than 90.4 million. There have been more than 1.9 million deaths worldwide attributed to the pandemic, according to data compiled from various sources by Johns Hopkins University.
