PEKIN (WEEK) - Tati Wynd said she put up the small sign in the corner of her front yard over a month ago. The sign reads 'F--- Trump.' She said she got the idea when she saw another sign in her neighborhood that read 'F--- Your Feelings.'
Wynd laughed as she explained walking past the sign and thinking she wanted a sign of her own. After her sign sat in her yard for over a month, she noticed a man walking by and taking a photo last week. The next day she received a notification from Pekin Police asking her to remove the sign due to "vulgar language" in conjunction with a city ordinance on yard signs.
Wynd decided to chronicle her experience in a multi-part posting on the popular social media app TikTok. Since those videos were posted not even 7 days ago, they've received more than 4 million total views.
Wynd ended up getting a citation for her sign. Something she said she understands according to the ordinance, but feels as if she's being singled out. There are many pro-Trump signs around the neighborhood, including one that reads 'Just Say No, Sleepy Joe and the H--.'
Wynd said using a derogatory and sexist word for a woman is just as vulgar as the four letter word on her sign. However, the other sign still stands.
"Even Trump supporters were saying you can't pick or choose. If it get a ticket, I'm just going to keep fighting it," she said.
Now she decided to make some new signs to decorate her front yard.
