Coronavirus in Pa.
After the holiday weekend contributed to a low number of reported cases, Pennsylvania’s new case numbers are continuing the surge that started last week with numbers that the state hasn’t seen since July. The 931 new cases are just the third-highest total through nine days of September. Wednesday’s total would have been the second-highest single-day figure in the month of August.
The state’s positivity rate and average new cases continue to climb as well. The seven-day positivity rate in the state is 7.2%. The last time the positivity rate reached that high was on May 30, when it was 7.6%. It’s climbed a whole 2.4% since it was 4.8% on Sept. 1. The state’s seven-day rolling average is 811 cases per day.

The CDT also reported that the university has yet to make a decision on remote schooling.
